to it and thought that it looked like a viewing window in the interrogation room back at

the station; he tried to look through it but it was too dark in the other room to see

anything. Suddenly a human figure jumped on to the window with both hands

touching it and moving, as if they were trying to feel for something with its face pressed

against the glass, as if it was trying to see into this room if it already couldn’t see him.

The thing in the window then opened its mouth, Wright could hear what he could only

describe as a continuous clicking noise as if it was like a bat trying to find its next pray.

Every time Wright would move the human figure would switch its head to the other

side as if it was trying to focus on what Wright was doing. Wright could tell that the

figure was bold and had a long hook nose, every time it opened its mouth he could

make out disfigured teeth. Wright then stepped back, the figure started to bang on the

window as it screamed loudly and cracked the window; when the window cracked the

figure stopped and put its hand on the crack then it smacked it, causing the crack to get

bigger and bigger with each blow.

Wright looked frantically around the room and saw a light coming from a slit in the

wall, he walked over to it and saw that the wall could be moved. When he moved it he

saw a stairwell and was happy that he didn’t have to go through the maze again. When

Wright stepped into the stairwell he was suddenly surrounded by darkness and knew

he was in the void again. Tony appeared in front of Wright and asked him if he liked

the horrors of the real world and the fact that just because he died didn’t mean that was

one less evil but one more spot for evil to come in. Wright looked at Tony and told him

that may be true but the world is still better without him in it. Tony looked at him with

disgust and told him that because Wright killed him, he left a little girl behind that now

lives with a horrible mother. Wright looked at Tony and didn’t say a word, he didn’t

want to talk anymore, he just wanted to hurry up in the void so he could stop Tony’s

massacre before it was too late.

  Chapter 07

  Seven Deadly Sins (Greed)

Doctor White always started his day the same way, in reality he always did the same

thing. He began every day by counting the asylums money by separating it into two

piles, one he would make sure the asylum got and the other for personal profit. Doctor

White overcharged people for putting their relatives in this place, not because he felt

bad for the people who lived here; no, it was because he wanted to take every last dime

from them and kick them out to get new people with money in here to do the same.

There was nothing Doctor White loved more than money, if he knew he could get a

good price for his own mother he would sell her to the highest bidder. There was a time

when he was a child that during lunch he would sell his own lunch, only to steal it back

to make a profit, he then repeated the process with other children multiple times

throughout the day. One day when he was young in middle school he made roughly

around $50 because he kept stealing his lunch back; he did this so many times that the

principal kicked him out of school for being disruptive. When he got to college he grew

out of stealing his lunch but fell into selling his notes; he made copies for a high price to

make it through college without having to work.

Doctor White was a simple man, if he had money he was happy. White only took the

job because he was told there was money to be made in it. White was happy when

Nurse Peters and her husband came to see him and told him they would give him more

money that he could spend. At first he was wary about it, but he came around after a

while. White only became a doctor because his family was poor and he didn’t want to

be poor anymore. White grew up with little to no money but he at least had what he

needed for the most part. White looked around his office and found an envelope on the

seat where Nurse Peters was sitting, when he opened it he found five thousand dollars

in it. He quickly put it in his pocket then looked around to make sure no one saw him.

White got up from his chair and walked to the doorway, he looked left then right to see

if anyone was coming. He saw that Nurse Peters wasn’t around which was strange, she

always wanted to be around her investment. White finally decided to do his rounds

which he hated to do, the patients would always ask him some crazy question that

made no sense. He looked at his watch it was now 10:30, half an hour past when he was

supposed to see how many people she had taken down to her dungeon this time and

how much she was going to pay him. White knew not all his patients would be there,

maybe three or four would be missing but he didn’t care; most of their families brought

them here so they didn’t have to deal with them.

Over the years Nurse Peters took about twenty to thirty patients for her experiments,

White didn’t know what was going on and didn’t want to know either. Nurse Peters

has expressed her work area as a “fun house”, White didn’t think that was appropriate

but she didn’t pay him to give her his opinion. He walked towards the stairs to go to the

third floor where Nurse Peters should be. White then walked up the stairs, when he got

there he started his rounds, one by one checking on the patients to see who was there

and who was missing. When he was done with the third floor he counted three people

missing and still had one floor to go. White looked around for Nurse Peters but she was

nowhere to be found, maybe she was on the second floor dealing with a patient. White

was happy that he made three thousand dollars and even happier that he now had

three extra bunks to fill and get more money. White then thought back when Nurse

Peters first offered him the money.

The asylum had just opened in the summer of 1956 with patients flowing in, White had

just finished school. White had just settled into his new office and was happy that he

was the head doctor, he worked really hard and it finally paid off. After White sat down

in his chair he heard a knock at the door, when he told them to enter he saw that it was

one of the nurses and a man was with her. She introduced herself as Jane Peters and the

man was Walter Peters, her husband, they had a business proposition for White and it

would make him very rich if he went along with it. White listened to them for about

thirty minutes, at the end he expressed his concern of them taking patients and doing

experiments on them. Nurse Peters then told him that he would make a thousand

dollars for every patient that they would take. White thought about it for a little while

but he eventually agreed to it, who knows maybe there experiments will help the

medical field progress. White asked Nurse Peters if it would be noticeable, that’s when

Nurse Peters smiled and told him that no one but the three of them would notice. After

three months of no one being taken White was a little relieved but then it started, at first

she would take one or two but then it went to four or five at a time. Unknown to White,

Nurse Peters put some in the maze and the others she would do her other experiments

  on. Her favor
ite experiment was to strap someone up to the Tessla machine and

  electrocute them.

White got to the stairs and started to head to the second floor to do his rounds down

there and hopefully find Nurse Peters. When White got to the second floor it was

empty, like no one was even in the rooms, he started to check the rooms and to his

surprise in every room he looked in there was no one in the bed, they were all empty.

After White got done with his rounds on the second floor he has horrified that there

wasn’t anyone there, he thought to himself that Nurse Peters went too far this time and

she needed to stop, someone was bound to find out about this. White turned around

and saw someone standing there, he introduced himself as Tony Dalengo, an ex

mobster. Tony told White that he was about to make him a very rich man, even more

rich than Nurse Peters could have ever made him. White looked confused, Tony then

told him that he was a demon and that for the small price of his soul he would give

White all the money he could possibly want and so much more. White asked Tony how

he would do that and why, Tony said that he wants every soul in this miserable place

and that if only he looks away and step out of the asylum he would make him richer

than he could have imagined in his wildest dreams. Eagerly White agreed and asked

him when he should leave, Tony then told him tomorrow night at 10:00pm; before Tony

left White asked him when would he get them money to which Tony replied soon very

soon and vanished, just as quickly as he had appeared only this time he had a bone

  chilling grin on his face.

White started to hear some of the patients talking so he decided to continue his rounds.

The only patient that was missing was Theodore Johnson from room 213, Nurse Peters

must be planning something big taking all these patients White thought. Theodore was

usually walking around outside his room, maybe he was in one of the other halls; Nurse

Peters knew better than to take more the a few patients at a time. White decided to look

around the second floor for him to see if he could find Theodore walking around

somewhere. When White couldn’t find him he thought maybe he snuck outside into the

courtyard so White walked to the steps. White got down to the first floor and walked to

the door but it was locked so there was no way Theodore could have gotten out that

way. White then walked to the kitchen, maybe he was there, who really knew where

these crazy were. White looked in the kitchen, then the back, and everywhere on the

first floor but he was nowhere to be found; White knew that Nurse Peters must have

taken him. White decided to go to his office and relax for a little while and then he

would go back to look for him.

When White got to his office there was a briefcase with a note on it, he picked up the

note and started to read it. The note said that he was a wise man for letting Tony do

what he was going to do, that he would be well compensated for it and not to worry

about a thing no one will ever know how greedy he is. The note also said that there will

be more briefcases when everything was done, that all he needed to do was leave for a

few hours and it gave him a location to go to and wait until midnight. White started to

feel uneasy about all of this so he thought about not going, he then opened the

briefcase and there was another note. The note said Don’t you dare think about going

back on what you said, if you do I’ll kill everyone you know and make your life a living

hell. Trust me when I saw I can and I will you better be at that location at 10:00pm.”

White quickly closed the briefcase then looked around trying to find Tony but he was

nowhere to be found. He looked at the note, it started to bleed so White dropped it

looking horrified at it. When he looked at the note on the floor it was no longer

bleeding, there was no blood, that’s when White heard someone laughing. White

picked the note up, when he opened it again, it was blank; then the laughing ceased.

White sat down in his chair and wondered if he was going insane, just like that patients

or if what happened really occurred. White looked at the briefcase, he was a little

hesitant to open it up again but when he did he saw five rows of five with each row

having stacks of hundreds. White smiled with delight, this was way more than Nurse

Peters had ever given him and there would be more. White was overjoyed and more

than happy to leave at 10:00pm. White knew something bad was going to happen but

with the money he was making he could afford the best lawyer in the world and still

have enough left over to retire at an early age. When he closed the briefcase he looked

up and saw the walls start to bleed and words from all over his walls, even on his desk

the word was “GREED” appeared. White started to feel a sharp pain all over his body

and the word “GREED” being written all over his body, he quickly got up and back

himself to the window. Now screaming and looking at his arms as blood was pouring

  out.

White jolted upright from his chair, looking at his arms and looking around, there were

no marks and no blood anywhere, he thanked God it was only a dream; then he heard

someone say that God has nothing to do with this place now thanks to him. White

looked around the room then noticed that the briefcase was gone, he looked

everywhere but he couldn’t find it. White looked at his watch and it was now 11:30pm

and time to get ready for another round but he really didn’t want to spend any more

time with the crazies, at least not any more time than he had to. White decided to relax,

he would go to the study and read a book for a while then he would do a round. White

went to the study and looked at the bookshelf and saw a book called the seven deadly

sins, he thought it might be a good book a little horror in your life is a good thing. When

he turned to the first chapter of the book it was titled GREED, spontaneously money

began to pour out of the book. White dropped the book and ran out of the study, he felt

the pain on his arms again but instead of bleeding red this time the blood was green.

White tried to wipe the green blood off of himself but it kept coming out, now there was

a puddle of green blood on the floor. Suddenly money started to fall from the ceiling

then turning into a liquid when it hit the floor and began to fill the main entrance.

Wright jolted awake, he was in the study with the book, Seven Deadly Sins, in his lap

still on the first chapter. White looked at his watch only to realize it was still only

11:30pm, he shook his watch and tried to listen for the ticking sound it makes, when he

didn’t hear it he thought damn now I need to go back to my office. White got up from

the chair then remembered his dream, he looked at his arm and saw in bold letters

“GREED” carved into his arm. When White got to his office he opened the door, there

was Tony sitting in his chair smiling, he told White that if he ever thought about going

back on his word the punishment would be a thousand times worse than what he just

experienced just ask Wright. Tony had a black briefcase in his hands, he told White that

if he wanted more money to just leave and not come back until after midnight and

nothing would happen to him. White
then asked Tony if people were going to die, Tony

simply smiled and said don’t you worry about that. As Tony vanished White could hear

him laughing, he then felt a horrible pain on his forehead, thinking it was a headache he

went to his desk to get some pills to stop the throbbing. When he opened the drawer

there was a mirror there, he could see the word Greed on his forehead. White fell down

in his chair and thought to himself what am I going to do now.

White left his office with the look of utter despair on his face, he started to walk up the

stairs and when he got to the top he took out his keys to unlock the door, then opened

it. The door lead to the roof, which was rarely visited by anyone, White walked to the

edge of the roof and looked down, he was four floors up and looking at the ground. He

climbed onto the ledge still looking down, with a tear in his eyes he realized that even

with all his money that he had just acquired he will now forever have the mark of greed

on his forehead for everyone to see. While a greedy man, the second thing that White

valued was the opinion of other people, he always wanted to be thought of as a high

class doctor but now with the word greed written on his forehead all he will ever be

known as is the greedy doctor; that thought alone was enough to sink him into the

greatest depression that he had ever known. He heard a raven caw, when he looked up

he saw one circling the sky above him and with the thought of at least dying rich, he

stepped off the ledge. The raven flew down to where White’s body landed and what

sounded like laughter started to come from the raven as it pecked at the back of his

head, before the last bit of life left his body the last thing he felt was the first peck.

  Chapter 08

Out of the Void into the Fire

It seemed like an eternity in the void when Tony finally came back and told Wright that

his plan was going exactly how he planned it and that there was no way for him to stop

him. Wright just smiled and let out a little laugh, he told him he already knew how to

stop him and that he was already working on it. Tony laughed and told Wright “You

know nothing and you won’t find a way in time to stop my little game of murder.”
