turned around and looked straight into Wright’s eyes as if he was trying to pierce his
soul. Wright quickly ducked down and hoped the thing out there didn’t see him but he
knew it probably did, Wright knew he needed to move quickly so he wouldn’t be found
by the demons that had taken over the asylum in this ruined world.
Wright left the room but when he stepped out he realized he was freezing cold again,
he tried to move but with every step he got colder and colder causing excruciating pain.
Suddenly a light fog started to come down the hallway, all Wright could do was watch
as it surround him, that’s when he started to hear shrieking from all around him.
Wright kept walking until he got to room 300, he tried to open the door but the door
knob was too cold to get a good grip on. Wright looked at the door and right below the
number was the word “Despair” with a pentagram under the word, the word looked as
if it was burned into the door. Wright put his coat over his hand and opened the door
instantly feeling warm again. Wright looked around and in the right corner of the room
he saw four pictures; one was a raven, the seconds was a three headed dog, the third
was a black cat, and the last was a man in a black trench coat, Wright already knew it
was Tony Dolengo. Tony was now Despair, the raven that rides on Death’s shoulder,
Wright thought to himself. Wright shuddered at the thought of Tony making this world
his own. Suddenly the walls started to close in on him and the pictures started
laughing, Wright ran to the door only to have it was shut and not open. Wright went to
the middle of the room and looked around but he couldn’t see a way out. Wright fell to
the ground in the fetal position and waited to be crushed. After about three minutes of
waiting he opened his eyes only to find everything was back to normal. The room was
now empty, the pictures were gone, the room looked like it had been scorched in a fire.
He walked over to the window to get some fresh air, when he got to the window the
face of the bloody woman was there staring at him, with her raven black eyes tearing
out his soul. For some reason Wright couldn’t look away, it was as if the woman had
hypnotized him. Suddenly he felt a great pain all over his body but he couldn’t scream,
he couldn’t move, he had to just stand there and wait until his body collapsed. Wright
had a sense of fear that he had never felt before, it was as if all his worst fears were
coming true right before his eyes and he couldn’t stop them.
Wright awoke to a raven pecking at his head saying, “Are you dead? Are you dead?”
When Wright moved the raven flew to the window and said again, “Are you dead? Are
you dead?” Wright simply looked at the raven and said I don’t know. The raven cocked
its head looking at Wright, with its head like this Wright could see the raven had
fluorescent red eyes that seemed to have wonder in them. The raven turned around and
flew off into the distance then disappearing. Wright stared at the horizon waiting to see
if the raven would return, after a few minutes a whole murder of ravens flew over the
asylum lead by the raven that was pecking at Wright’s head. Wright turned around to
face the door where he saw the bloody woman there, this time she was crying blood as
she held her blood covered hands out towards Wright. As she stepped closer Wright
stepped back until he reached the back wall, Wright looked about but couldn’t find a
way to get away. The woman was right in front of him, with no way out, Wright closed
his eyes then heard “Help me” when he opened his eyes the woman was gone. Wright
left the room then saw the woman go into room 313, as much as Wright didn’t want to
go back into that room he decided to follow her. When Wright got to the room, the
name on the door was a crossed out but he could still make out that it said “ Hope” that
was the name of Death’s second raven, the one that sent souls to heaven. Wright slowly
opened the door, there was the woman in the room covered in blood she then pointed
to the right side wall where there were two pictures; one of a beautiful woman maybe
in her mid-twenties and the other was a raven with fluorescent gold eyes.
The woman looked at Wright and with bloody tears and yelped “help me” she then put
her head in her hands and started to make sobbing sounds. When Wright took a step
closer to her, her head jolted up and she ran straight at Wright but before she got to him
she disappeared. Wright looked at where she was and only saw a broken feather with a
little blood at the tip of it. When Wright tried to pick up the feather it turned into black
dust then from the broken window in the room a breeze came through and blew the
dust away. Wright saw a desk in the right corner of the room, on it was a piece of paper
that said, “Now these ashes have grown cold, we open the old book. These oil-stained
pages recount the tales of the Fallen, a frayed empire, words without warmth. The
hearth has ebbed, its gleam and life's sparks are but memories against dimming eyes –
what cast my mind, what hue my thoughts as I open the Book of the Fallen and breathe
deep the scent of history? Listen, then, to these words carried on that breath. These tales
are the tales of us all, again yet again. We are history relived and that is aft, without end
that is all. The Emperor is dead! So too his right hand – now cold, now severed! But
mark these dying shadows, twinned and flowing bloody and beaten, down and away
from mortal sight... From scepter’s rule dismissed, from gild candelabra the light now
fled, from a hearth ringed in hard jewels, seven years this warmth has bled ... The
Emperor is dead. So to his master's companion, the rope cut clean. But mark this
burgeoning return faltering dark, the tattered shroud embracing children in Empire's
dying light. Hear now the dirge faint reprised, before the sun's fall, this day spills red
on buckled earth, and in obsidian eyes vengeance chimes seven times.” Wright stared at
the paper for a while and wondered what it meant then he folded it up and put it in his
pocket.
The thought of Despair and Hope fight came to Wright’s mind. Wright started to hear
chains come from a room down the hallway, Wright looked around for a place to hide
but there was no where he could go where whatever that was making the noise could
not find him. Wright imagined a huge man with enormous horns carrying long thick
chains that were scraping ten feet behind him. Wright saw a pitch black corner on the
left side of the room, he walked to the corner then sat down and bunched up his legs to
his chest then waited to see what the thing looked like that was heading his way. When
the chained thing came to the room it stopped and looked inside, it looked like nothing
that Wright had expected. It was a tall man however, he had no eyelids with smoky
eyes but the smoke didn’t leave his eye sockets. It had the chains covering most of his
body, they were bolted into his skin and where the bolts were there was a thick black
ooze coming out. Suddenly the chains started to slither on the floor like a snake, the
chains then came around to the front of the man and started to slither into the room in
all directions Wright counted ten chain links and figured they were looking for him.
/>
The man started to groan in agony and clenched his teeth as the snake like chains
slithered further into the room.
Wright started to feel something cold start to wrap around his leg while his pant leg
was starting to get wet and freeze over. It slowly started getting closer to his waist and
squeezing tighter, Wright didn’t want to move just in case it didn’t know he was there.
The snake like chain then slithered all the way around Wright’s waist and tightened
pulling Wright out into the light as the chained man then grinned to reveal he had
rotted teeth that looked like they could fall out at any second. In a low crispy voice he
said, “I’m the darkness in the light, the rot in the in the soul of man, that feeling in your
stomach that makes you vomit. I am Zeernebooch monarch to the empire of death.”
Zeernebooch then started to twist and turn his body into something strange that had
the bolt spikes were now facing out of his body and the chains protruding from his skin
while still slithering around Wright and squeezing him tighter and tighter. His teeth
were now on the outside of his mouth and no smoke from his eyes was floating up and
dissipating into the air but it seemed like the smoke was endless. Suddenly the smoke
stopped flowing from Zeernebooch’s eyes and a snake in each eye socket started to
come out and slither around his head, when they came back to the front they simply
stayed there looking at Wright with eyes that looked so evil they cut through the purest
man. Wright began to struggle to try and get out of the snake like chain’s grip but the
more he struggled the tighter it got until Wright could barely breathe.
Suddenly loud shrieks came from somewhere outside, as Zeernebooch’s chains
unwrapped around Wright he then turned to face the way he came in and proceeded to
run off. Wright had to cover his ears when the shrieking started, it felt like a needle was
piercing his ear drum. When the shrieking stopped Wright looked outside to see if he
could find what made the noise but all he saw was hundred maybe more inverted
crosses on fire and people burning but not dying just screaming hoping for death.
Wright then saw one cross that wasn’t on fire but it was inverted and he thought that
cross was meant for him. He quickly got away from the window and he knew he had to
get out of the room and find a way out of whatever kind of world this was that way he
could stop Tony from making the world into this place. Wright walked out of the room
then out of the corner of his left eye he saw a small shadowy figure run into another
room but when he looked nothing was there. He then heard what sounded like a little
girl laugh coming from where the shadowy figure went.
Wright started to walk slowly towards where he saw the shadowy figure; when he got
there, there was a door that had 666 on it he then started to hear more laughter all
around him, when he looked around there was no one around just empty hallways.
Wright then opened the door and saw a long hallway of nothing but darkness and at
the end he saw someone or something chained up. When Wright stepped in he heard a
whisper in his right ear and in a hissing voice say “Thisss isss the eternal darknesss
which there isss no essscape.” When he turned around there was nothing there, the
light from the hallway he was just in had even faded. Wright turned and looked at the
thing that was chained up, he saw it smile but the smile didn’t seem like it was a happy
smile there was something off putting about it. Its eyes almost looked hollow, as if there
was nothing there just a small white light. Without realizing it, Wright was getting
closer to the chained thing and its figure became clearer, the thing was muscular and
looked like it had a strait jacket on with attached to the jacket. The closer Wright got to
the chained thing the more violet it struggled trying to get out of its little prison. The
thing looked up at Wright and said “I’m Kobal the damned demon. I’m the one that no
one wants but everyone has. I’m the shadow in the night, the one you warn your kids
about. Free me and I could help you.” His voice was low and harsh like he was about to
lose his voice.
Wright took a closer look at Kobal, he had ears that looked like cats, a broad face, and
stocky shoulders. On Kobal’s face was the word “DAMNED”, it looked like it was
scorched into his forehead. Kobal lunged at Wright making him step backwards then
Kobal laughed. Wright then stepped around Kobal and walked away from him, after a
while he was in front of Kobal to which he said “Back so soon, I thought you didn’t like
me” then started to chuckle. Suddenly the ground started to ripple like water and
something on each side of Kobal started to come up, they were covered in black ooze.
The two things started to reveal themselves more and more then Wright realized that it
was his wife and his mother. They had chains that were slithering around their bodies
with the chains also taking small bits out of their skin; with every bite they would
scream. Wright’s wife looked at him she still had the bullet hole in her head, with tears
in her eyes she cried out for him to help her. Wright tried to get closer to his wife but as
he did, she started to sink deeper into the black ooze then Kobal said “No you can’t
save her, she’s already suffering. All you can do now is watch.” Wright sank to about
waist deep in the ooze then stopped, he tried to struggle to get out but then he saw the
snake like chains wrap around his wife’s and his mother’s throats and tighten. The head
of the snake like chain then looked at Wright and slithered up Wright’s wife’s face and
burrowed through the hole that was in her head. Blood started to flow from the bullet
hole and from her eyes as she started to scream louder, begging for help but Wright
could only watch as the snake like chain came out of the back of her head.
Suddenly the snake like chain that was on Wright’s mother started to move and the
head of it made its way to the bullet hole in his mothers chest. The snake like chain that
was on his mother was bigger than the one that was on his wife, it was struggling to get
inside the bullet hole. The snake like chain then started to bite off small pieces of skin to
make the hole bigger and when it was bigger it backed up a little then speared itself into
the hole. As soon as the snake like chain entered the bullet hole in Wright’s mother she
reared her head back and screamed in pain then began to cry more. Blood started to
spew from Wright’s mother’s mouth and all she could do was look at Wright as he was
half way consumed by the black ooze. Wright continued to struggle but he couldn’t get
out so he had to watch as the snake like chains moved all around his wife’s and
mother’s body and see the agony that they were going through. The snake like chain
then busted out of Wright’s mother’s back as she fell to her knees then the snake like
chain wrapped around her neck and picked her back up to her feet. The snake like
chains the moved toward Kobal and wrapped themselves around him and slowly
brought Wright’s mother and wife closer to him. Kobal’s mouth started to open up as
wide as his body and the snakelike chain that were around his wife started to pick her

up and carry her over Kobal’s mouth. Wright started to struggle more and yell at Kobal
to stop but when Wright’s wife got over Kobal’s mouth the chains let go of her, now she
was hanging from the hole in her head. She screamed in pain as it ripped half way
through her skull, then Kobal started to consume her. Chains then came straight up
from the black ooze that was around Wright and wrapped around him and went over
his shoulders to hold him down to force him to watch what was happening to his wife
and what would happen to his mother. Wright put his head down so he wouldn’t have
to see his wife being eaten but the snake like chains wrapped around his head and
pulled it back up to force him to watch. With every bite Kobal took Wright’s wife
screamed in agony as she was begging for Wright to help her.
With the last bite it fell almost completely silent, the only sound was Wright’s mother
crying then the snake like chains started to pick her up as she started to scream louder.
The snake like chains then tightened around her neck and made it difficult for her to
scream, all she could do was gasp for what little air she could get. The snake like chains
slowly lowered Wright’s mother into Kobal’s mouth, with every bite she clenched her
teeth and had more tears falling down her face then she looked at Wright and said
“Why didn’t you help us.” With the last bite the only noise that could be heard was the
sound of the chains moving on the chains that was already on Kobal. The snake like
chains then tightened on his shoulders and started to pull him further down into the
black ooze, it felt thick to Wright a little like tar. The chains were now loose from
around his head so he put his head up to where he could still breathe for a little longer.
The further down the chains dragged him the heavier the ooze got and the more
difficult it was for him to see, it was like the void all over again the only difference was
that now he couldn’t breathe. Wright finally hit what he assumed was the bottom,
making him think the chains would just hold him there until he drowned or whatever
happens when you are in ooze. The chains kept pulling him down and he eventually
fell to his knees then to his stomach, now it felt like he the chains were trying to pull
