soul came to the city he died in well to him murdered in he flew to the house of the

person that killed him just as two men were running out. He went into the house and

saw a woman and a small boy laying on the floor almost lifeless, he knew it was the

man’s wife and son he went up to them and pecked at them until he got their souls and

ate them. He flew out of the house and headed for an asylum that had been built a few

years back. He perched on the roof of the asylum waiting for the day the man who

killed would come here so he could get his revenge.

Wright looked at his watch, it was now 9:30 AM he still had time before Tony did

whatever it was that he was going to do. Wright walked down the hallway passing

door, the door that had storage written on the window part as he tried to open it a

figure of a person slammed against the door startling him and making him step

backwards. The hands scraped down the window then disappeared, Wright stood there

looking at the door wondering where the thing went. Wright went back to the door

then opened it, there was a large amount of file boxes but nothing that looked out of

place. There was no sign that anyone had been in here at least not any time recently,

Wright turned to shut the door and when it was closed there was a pentagram with the

number thirteen in the middle of it. Wright felt warm air on the back of his neck, like

someone was breathing on him, he slowly turned around and no one was there he then

saw a box with the pentagram with thirteen in the middle.

Wright opened the box and inside was two porcelain dolls, the faces were Wright, each

had an eye on the opposite side of each other and on one doll there was half a

pentagram with the number one. The second doll had the second half of the pentagram

with the number three. Wright took both dolls and put them together causing the

pentagram to glow red like fire then the pentagram that was on his hand started to

burn; Wright dropped the dolls and the burning sensation stopped. Suddenly Wright

heard both dolls say at the same time “Open your eyes. See the truth. See through what

you think is real”. Their voices sounded like small children but it had a creepy sound to

it that was magnified by them both saying at the same time, one sounded like a girl and

the other one sounded like a boy. The two dolls stood up then laughed as they both said

“Come play with us, play with us forever”, then they started to walk towards Wright.

The porcelain dolls got close together and made the pentagram whole causing Wright’s

hand to start to burn. As they got closer Wright started to walk backwards but he

tripped and fell, when they got close enough he kicked the two dolls away making

them separate then he heard them laugh from two different areas. When the laughing

stopped he heard little footsteps running around behind all the boxes. Suddenly some

of the boxes that were stacked high up started to fall towards Wright, as he moved out

of the way more of the boxes that were stacked started to fall, as they fell Wright could

hear the two dolls laugh. Wright got up and jumped out of the way just as some of the

boxes came crashing down where he was.

Wright started to hear the two dolls laugh all around him and he couldn’t tell where

they were or where they were going, he just kept looking around waiting for them to

jump out at him. Suddenly from his left and right the dolls were on both sides of him,

eerily grinning. They had sharp teeth that looked like a hack saw blade. They slowly

started to walk towards Wright, he stood up and looked where he could go but the

fallen boxes blocked his way. The dolls kept getting closer, they started to chuckle

Wright then grabbed one of the boxes and threw it at the doll that was on his left side.

The box hit the doll and knocked it over then landing on it crushing its head. The doll

then stood up again but now it didn’t have a head, a greyish color ooze started to come

out from where its head was. The pieces of the head started to move towards the body

of the doll and piece itself back together. The dolls body picked up the head when it

was whole and placed it on its shoulders causing the greyish ooze to stop coming out,

the doll started to laugh and walk towards Wright again. Wright ran at the doll on his

right and when he got close enough he kicked the doll. The doll flew through the air

then hit the wall, Wright then got to the door and opened it and left the room, closing

  the door behind him.

Wright walked down the hallway trying to find a way up to the first floor then he

found a room that was pitch black. Everything in his body was telling him not to go in

that room to just walk past the room. As Wright got to the doorway he heard the

sweetest voice tell him to come in the room but he couldn’t ignore the gut feeling that

was telling him not to. Wright reached in the dark room to close the door, as he touched

the doorknob a decomposing hand with blisters grabbed his arm and tried to pull him

in. Wright tried to pull his hand away but the hand had a strong grip on him and kept

pulling him in, Wright then grabbed the arm and tried pulling harder. Finally he was

pulling the arm out then he saw a face, the face was decomposing but he knew it was

the face of Grace the woman from room 313. Grace then screamed at him and let go and

Wright let go as well, Grace rushed back into the dark room. Wright stared at the

darkness of the room waiting for Grace to pop out but she never did so Wright started

to walk down the hall again. Wright got maybe fifty feet away when he heard Grace

screech loudly when he turned around she was standing there as if she was getting

ready to lunge at him then she screeched again. Wright slowly took a step backwards

and Grace screeched at him again so he stopped and gazed upon her wondering what

she was going to do next. Grace stared back meeting his Wright’s eyes with her own as

if trying to tell him something then all of a sudden he felt a great amount of dread as if

his own life was in great peril. Grace spread her wings, as he flapped them it looked as

if her wings were shimmering with a hundred stars and at that moment Wright saw

that his life would end that night but he was still determined to stop Tony and as that

crossed his mind he felt as if his very soul was being ripped from his body. Wright

dropped to his knees and heard a voice say “The dead feel no pain but the living will

feel my pain.” The pain intensified more and more, it got so bad that his life flashed

before his eyes but it was only the moments that he had hoped he would never have to

relive, it felt like he was reliving every painful moment. At the end he saw himself

pointing a revolver at himself, with a spiteful grin he pulled the trigger and saw the

bullet slowly come towards him but he couldn’t move then it hit him in the chest, he

could feel it move around inside him until it hit his heart and the ground came towards

him as he fell all he could see was the grin as his eyes slowly shut and he felt the icy kiss

of death consume him. Wright woke up then stood up and looked around and saw that

he was on the roof of the asylum, when he tried to take a step he collapsed to his knees

and again felt a sharp pain in his chest, as he grabbed his chest he felt a bu
rning

sensation. He unbuttoned his shirt to see a scorch mark in the shape of a bird on his

chest, when he attempted to touch it the pain was so bad that he rolled onto his back

with his arms crossing his chest. His vision started to fade, as the light started to fade

he could see a man standing over him, it looked as if this man had a sinister grin as

Wright started to fade into unconsciousness. After what seemed like a lifetime Wright

finally awoke but he had a strange feeling that he was not alone, as he started to roll

over to his other side he heard a woman’s telling him not to look and that whatever was

on his other side wanted to hurt him. Wright turned to face the voice and for a split

second he saw a woman in a white stained nightie with blood covering her face, as soon

as he blinked she was gone and the feeling a duress left with her.

As soon as Wright stood up he saw Tony sitting down on a chair by a door with the

number 312 on it, Tony met his gaze and offered him a seat next to him. Wright sat

down and with a sigh asked Tony what was going on and that this was supposed to be

an easy investigation. Tony leaned back in his chair and laughed and said “Detective

you should know better than anyone, there is no such thing as easy.” With another sigh

as he leaned forward he thought about how he just wanted to go home and crawl into

bed and stay there; he then looked over towards Tony but he was gone now with only a

note left behind. Wright picked up the piece of paper and read it on it was written

something about the Hell Mouth, Wright threw the paper on the ground and started to

walk down the corridor when he heard a scream, when he ran to it he was suddenly in

the lobby of the asylum. In the middle of the floor was a body that looked like it was

torn apart, there was blood everywhere, when Wright looked up from the body he saw

that no one else was around and he started to wonder if he was still in the void or if he

was out and there was no one around. If no one was around there should have been

nurses running to the scream. Wright looked back down at the body and saw one of the

tags that patients wear, he looked at it and saw the name Mary Rose as he stared at the

name Wright started to hear laughter when he looked up there was still no one there

then he looked at Mary’s head, her eyes were now wide open and there was a smile on

her face that gave Wright an uneasy feeling; that’s when the body parts started to move

and Mary started to laugh. Walter felt something grab his ankle, when he looked down

Mary’s hand was holding tightly to it and squeezing tighter as if she was trying to stop

him from moving. Wright tried to shake it off but it just tightened its grip, when he

tried to move away from the body he tripped then he looked up and he could see the

head rolling towards him but now she had sharp teeth, before he knew it Mary had her

fangs stuck inside his left leg. To Wright it felt as if his leg was being crushed by

something sharp and suddenly his vision started to blur, right before everything went

completely black he saw a man in a black trench coat and a top hat grinning from ear to

ear with his head tilted to the left.

“There’s crying, why is there crying and who is it? I can’t see anyone” Wright said into

the darkness, he tried to open his eyes but it was as if they wouldn’t open. Wright tried

to reach out but is arm wouldn’t move, he remembered this feeling it was the same

feeling when he was on the table the Nurse Peters had put him on. Wright wondered if

everything he had just went through had been some weird dream he wondered what

was happening then he heard the word “Kill” from what he thought might have been

behind him, it was in a women’s voice but it was an old woman and there was angry

behind it, it almost sound like his wife’s voice. Wright started to feel cold as if there was

no heat left in his body then he heard someone or rather something say “You’re not

done” then he felt his back hit the ground hard, he then opened up his eyes and saw

that he was back in the asylum but he was in the lobby with 13 nurses standing around

him, one of the nurses leaned down and asked him if he was alright. Wright asked her

what happened the nurse told him that he had a blank look in his eyes then he

collapsed and he was laying down there for about 30 minutes. Wright then asked the

nurse what day it was the nurse told him that it was the 12 th and that it was 1150 pm

Wright stood up and started to stumble backwards as he tried to walk a nurse that was

behind caught him and helped him stand up straight. Wright thanked her as he started

to head towards Doctor White’s office when the nurse who caught him said you’re

welcome but the way she said it was every eerie and cynical. Wright looked back at the

nurse that helped him, she was smiling with her head tilted to the left and as he was

about to turn away her face changed her eyes grew wider and her smile grew longer

and her teeth became visible, the feeling Wright got from her became bone chilling.

Suddenly a man showed up behind him and whispered in his ear say “It is time for

Despair to feed.” Wright jolted and took a look behind him. There was Walter and the

  nurse was beside him.

  Chapter 12

  Finis

Tick tock tick tock Wright heard the clock but dared not to look, he knew it was the 13th

he knew he only had a few hours left; he also knew he was no closer to solving this case

and no closer to stopping Tony. Wright was sitting in Doctor White’s personal study

leaning in the chair with his elbows on his knees and his hands clenched tightly

together and his head hanging down, he was frustrated with the situation and with

himself, he was supposed to be better than this he was supposed to solve this and go

home he thought to himself. Excuse me Detective he heard a sweet voice say, when he

looked up no one was there, he then sat up then slouched again, his right elbow was

one the right arm of the chair and his hands covered his mouth if only I had talked to

Doctor White before he killed himself he thought. The silence in the room was nice he

thought but then again it was to quiet, shouldn’t he have heard something by now he

looked at the clock to see 5:18 he then looked back at the door and saw a shadowy

figure pass from the gap between the door and the floor but he heard nothing, it was as

if a ghost passed by only leaving the cold behind. Why was it cold there is no window

in here and it was just warm he thought he looked around the room the only light that

was on was a small desk light on a desk that faced a wall with the picture of someone

that Wright could only describe as mad. He stared at the picture, it felt as if it might be

alive somehow, as he stared he felt an uneasy feeling growing in him as if he himself

was about to die or was already dead he couldn’t figure it out.

A loud pounding came from the door, like someone hitting the door with their fist; no,

it was more like someone being thrown at the door then he heard the words he hoped

to never hear “Wright come out you’re under arrest” the pounding came again and

again Wright yelled out but no words came, no sound, nothing, just emptiness when he

tried to get up he couldn’t. He heard one last pound
then nothing, the silence was so

overbearing that he couldn’t even hear himself think now, he heard what real silence

was and never in his life had he ever been more afraid of the silence. Without warning

he thought is this is what madness feels like came to his mind. Wright looked back at

the door and saw the words “Facti sunt velut victos I onees, qui est in requiem gravis.”

Wright started to hear himself repeat it over and over and when he tried to stop he

couldn’t, it was as if something else was making him say it or something else was

saying it but in his voice. Wright then heard someone say I have become like the

defeated ones, who rest in the grave. Wright turned around and saw Walter laugh as he

said it was Latin. Wright asked why it was written on the door. Walter told him to open

the door and find out then he laughed and fell back into the darkness.

Wright opened the door, it was as if he was pulled into what he thought was a room.

Wright suddenly felt himself lying down but when he tried to get up he hit his head on

something. He tried to feel around and realized he was in a wooden box of some kind.

Wright tried to remain calm but the longer he was in the box the more the silence was

starting to make him go crazy, he started to bang on the top hoping someone would

hear him but after ten minutes of nothing he started to hyperventilate. Wright pulled

his revolver and pointed it up and shot it but it jammed, he pulled the hammer back

and tried again but once again it jammed. Wright was determined to shoot his way out

so he pulled the hammer back again, this time there was a loud bang and Wright could

feel something pouring in. He grabbed his lighter from his pocket and saw what looked

like blood pouring in. Wright tried to plug the hole with his finger, when he did he

heard a loud scream then he saw a nurse with a gunshot wound when he asked what

happened he heard another nurse scream at him saying “You shot her why did you

shoot her.” “I didn’t shoot...” Wright cut his sentence short when he saw his revolver

pointing at the nurse. The other nurse started to run away then Wright heard another

gunshot and saw the nurse fall to the ground. Wright looked at his hands as he tried to
